Learning // Residency

Given the need for medical education service of medical imaging the Sanatorio Otamendi has incorporated a system of postgraduate courses aimed at resident doctors and counting so far with approximately thirteen Alumni fellows from nine years ago.

The regime of residences settled in 2001 with the unique and special mission form physicians with a broad knowledge of the diagnosis by images, able to play in both nationally and internationally, through the experience offered by our service. It has technology advanced and professional with a high commitment to teaching and assistance activity.

The duration of the residence is four years and they are requirements to enter doctor graduated from a University, provincial and private national recognized or foreign recognized. A certified photocopy of the title of doctor, certified photocopy of the certificate of average career and curriculum vitae must be submitted. Finally, must pass an entrance examination and personal interview with your selected committee.

Objetives

  • 1. Train physicians with the ability to play in the specialty in technical, academic and ethical aspects
  • 2. Resident doctors provide solid knowledge of diagnostic reality, security patterns and operational quality, as well as the challenges of personalized attention and quality of service

Graduate's Profile

Graduates will be able to

Develop:

  • 1. An attitude of service, based on accurate operational principles with a realistic and constructive vocational and occupational behavior.
  • 2. The responsibility which represents its task with regard to the care of the patient and prevention in health, consolidated in operational and comprehensive knowledge of the medical task.

Know:

  • 1. Different pathologies, their presentation and behavior Imaging.
  • 2. Processes and actions appropriate for an accurate medical process, consolidation of information and decision-making of own and senior levels from their daily working reality.
  • 3. Specific procedures related to biosafety standard.

Develop ability to:

  • 1. The correct use of different imaging techniques.
  • 2. Function properly from the medical and ethical point of view with other colleagues of the specialty and the rest of the specialties.

Curriculum

First Year

  • Recognition of the boards of Radiology and acquisition of knowledge on conventional radiological technique
  • Collaboration in the contrasting radiological studies.
  • Acquisition of technical knowledge of computerized tomography
  • Collaboration in reports of computed tomography.
  • Acquisition of technical knowledge of magnetic resonance.
  • Case studies reports in Radiology academies.
  • Acquisition of knowledge about radiological contrast mediums
  • Alternately twice per week see ultrasound studies.

Second Year

  • Participation in conventional Radiology reports
  • Participation in the reports of computed tomography
  • Participation in radiological studies contrasted, collaborating with the radiologist doctor.
  • Participation in radiological studies contrasted, collaborating with the radiologist doctor.
  • Introduction to mammography.
  • Presentation of cases in Radiology academies.
  • Cooperation in the training of residents of first year.
  • Alternately twice per week, presence and participation, the echographic studies.

Third Year

  • Participation in radiological studies contrasted with supervision of the medical radiologist.
  • Participation in reports of Radiology, computed tomography and magnetic resonance.
  • Collaboration in studies interventionists.
  • Presence of mammography reports.
  • Computed tomography preliminary.
  • Participation in the training of first and second year residents.
  • Participation in radiological athenaeums and radiological clinic.
  • Participation the echographic studies.

Fourth Year

  • Participation in the reports of Radiology, computed tomography and magnetic resonance.
  • Contrast studies.
  • Participation in mammary reports.
  • Collaboration in studies interventionists.
  • Rotation in Pediatric Radiology
  • Rotation in nuclear medicine.
  • Participation in the training of residents in lower years.
  • Participation in radiological athenaeums and clinical radiological.
